Training & Coaching

Training Times

We swim at the Lane Cove Aquatic Centre two times a week and Manly pool at the weekend.

Members can choose how many sessions each week they would like to do.
Our training times are:

Day Time
Monday 7.30pm – 8.30pm Lane Cove
Wednesday 7.30pm – 8.30pm Lane Cove
Saturday
Sunday 8:30am – 10am Manly (not in January)
Bring a snorkel, kick board, fins and pull buoy on Sundays and optionally through the week.

The Wednesday sessions are often followed by a drink and a bite at a local pub or restaurant determined by most popular choice on the day. Common spots are Blues Point Hotel in McMahon’s Point, and the Longueville Hotel. Just ask around to folks on deck to see where the chosen destination is!

Coaching

We currently have a roster of regular coaches at North Sydney Masters. Head Coach Steve Badger coaches lanes 2 & 3 on Mondays & Wednesdays, while Assistant Coach Guil takes lane 1. On Saturdays & Sundays our swimmer/coaches take over with Mark & Christina sharing the majority of sessions, while Mickaela and Alvin fill in when required. Sessions are varied and focus on both fitness as well as skills – including racing skills. If the coaching or training schedule changes, one of the coaches will usually send an email out to the club to notify everyone of the change.
